Claridec, formed in 2019, is a partnership of consultancy and training companies in Europe and North America. Jointly they provide a broad spectrum of experience in decision analysis, risk management, economics and scenario planning including backgrounds at large multinational corporations.
Diana Del Bel Belluz
President and Founder of Risk Wise Inc., creator of the Mobilize for Growth program. She enables business leaders to systematically navigate the uncertainties and risks in their business environment in order to maximize the value their organizations create. Diana guides executive teams and boards to gain clarity and confidence about their choices by having effective conversations that enable them to appropriately weigh the complex and difficult risk issues that arise as they develop and pursue their strategic objectives.
Erik Schneider
Erik Schneider brings over 25 years of experience across the fields of finance, cybersecurity and risk management. During the course of his career, Erik developed a strong interest in the extensive research on decision quality and frameworks and has sought to introduce them beyond the energy and pharmaceutical fields. His experience spans small startups and international consulting firms, and he has worked onsite with clients in North America, Europe and Asia. In addition to his work at Claridec, he is Founder/CEO of Eluctari, an organisation dedicated to improving decision quality and academic peer review, among other projects.

Kayla Helt
As a professional geoscientist, Kayla knows first-hand that managing projects in the mining and exploration space come with inherent challenges due to the involvement of multiple stakeholders. Experiencing a commonplace reactive approach didn’t align with her view that good decision making is facilitated by understanding big picture goals, considering all available information, and evaluating a spectrum of scenario outcomes. So, Kayla obtained the Canadian Risk Management designation to leverage her 15 years’ experience and comprehensive understanding of operational risks (people, processes, and systems) to work with companies to embrace risk management as a strategic resource central to decision making, through her company, AbitiRisque Inc.
Henk Krijnen
Henk Krijnen has completed a career of 35 years with Shell which took him to Indonesia, Thailand, the United States and the Netherlands. During his last five years in Shell’s corporate strategy department, he played a pivotal role in establishing new risk and scenario analysis approaches within the company. In 2015 he founded NavIncerta to develop online training.
During 2020-2021 Henk was a Distinguished Lecturer for the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Karen McBride
With more than forty years in the financial services industry, Karen brings executive-level experience, including as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Passionate about the development of risk disciplines, she has led the development and design of risk frameworks, served as a frequent conference presenter, and engaged at the national level on pandemic preparedness and response.
In 2011, she founded Risk Lens Consulting, with a primary focus on right-sized risk programs to enable risk-informed decisions at the board level. Her international experience includes Malawi and Ghana, with a primary focus on risk, regulatory compliance, and operations. She currently sits on the Board of Innovation Federal Credit Union, serving as Chair of Audit and Conduct Review and on the Risk Committee.
Craig Mitchell
Craig Mitchell brings 20 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry with companies including primarily Chevron and latterly Maersk Oil. This has given Craig a wealth of experience in facilitating, analysing, training on Decision Quality Principles and Economic support to companies. Although primarily focused on the oil and gas industry the principles and process are applicable to all industries and decision making.
Phil Morin
With over 30 years of experience across public and private sectors, Philip has guided organizations with expertise in project and risk management. He helps organizations unlock business value through thorough project planning, ensuring that timelines and budgets are aligned with the project complexity and uncertainties. Philip equips teams and decision-makers with answers to three critical questions: How likely will the project finish on time and within budget? How much contingency is required to achieve a reasonable level of confidence in meeting cost and schedule objectives? And where should risk management efforts be focused?
Rob Quail
Rob Quail is a renowned Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) expert who established groundbreaking ERM processes at Hydro One Networks Inc., which became a Harvard Business School case study. Since then, has successfully applied ERM methodologies across diverse business challenges, including acquisitions, outsourcing, and strategic planning. Currently, he is the Principal of Robert Quail Consulting, where he provides risk management consulting services to various industry sectors. He is also a noted author and lecturer on ERM.
Daniel Schneider
Daniel Schneider is a decision consultant who supports owner teams in project shaping and organizational decision quality. He helps teams provide decision makers with what they need to decide with confidence – doing only what is necessary to achieve clarity. Daniel brings clients a mix of facilitation skills, technical subject matter expertise, and capital project experience. He started Horizon Environmental Inc. after spending 15 years as an environmental consultant working on a diverse set of mining and environmental projects.
Steve Uhl
Steve Uhl brings 30 years experience helping companies tackle complex, risky decisions. He also specializes in workshops and training that enable clients to transform their decision-making processes. Steve has particular expertise in quantifying, managing and mitigating the risks involved in major capital investment projects. In addition to his work at Claridec, he is a founder DeRiskPro which develops risk management software.
Valter Viola
Valter Viola is a seasoned investment professional with over 30 years of experience in pension fund management and consulting. Currently serving as President of Cortex Consulting, he previously held a pioneering executive role at CPP Investments and was part of the senior management team at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where he managed tactical asset allocation and real return bond portfolios. Throughout his career, he has advised some of North America’s largest pension funds on investment and risk management. A Chartered Financial Analyst and MBA graduate from Western University, Valter has also contributed his expertise as a former member of the Investment Practices Committee of the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC).
